Jack White carries Iggy Pop à la Michelangelo's 'Pietà' for a Mojo magazine cover shot. When the White Stripes frontman's interview with the legendary Stooges singer appeared in the publication, there were rumors that White might actually join the Stooges, which had publicly reunited at Coachella a few months earlier -- appearing onstage just after the White Stripes. White had called the Stooges album 'Fun House' the greatest rock 'n' roll album ever made. Iggy said the White Stripes album 'White Blood Cells' inspired music on his own 2003 solo album, 'Skull Ring.' Despite the lovefest, the union of the two Michigan rockers never happened.

What is it about Detroit that so much creativity comes from this town. Way more than any other part of the world. From the creation of punk with Iggy and the Stooges and the MC5. to Eminem and Kid Rock. All creative thinkers including Motown, Aretha, Madonna, Segar, The White Stripes and on.
What is it about this city that the media loves to trash that has more creative genius per capita than any place else.
I don't know why. I'm just sayin.
It's easy, if you are from Detroit. Detroit is a 'meat and potato' type of city. Hard work, hard people, hard weather, simple, no frills, multi-ethnic, factory town. No Hollywood and Big Apple BS. Just the kind of beginning that puts fire and soul in people to express themselves in a soulful, creative and hard-edged way. It comes naturally.
The media are fools. The reason they are is b/c they view the world and reality with 'Hollywood' and Big Apple type glasses.
A big part of life is struggle, at least for most people, in one form or another. It's that foundation that can produce the best creativity.
All you have to do is hit the exclaimation mark by thr up/down arrows to report and take it off.
