The View Drummer Appears in Court Over Assault Charge

The View's drummer Steven Morrison has appeared at a Dundee court charged with assaulting a man in the Scottish city last month.

The preliminary hearing on Thursday, Nov. 18 saw Morrison deny that he "repeatedly" kicked and punched alleged victim Craig Cairnie in a Dundee city centre street on Oct. 25.

The bailed musician's trial is now set to begin in February next year, reports STV news.

Despite his court appearance alongside his co-accused friend Bryan Murphy, Morrison still managed to perform with the notoriously badly behaved Scottish four-piece at a gig at Glasgow's Queen Margaret Union the same night.

The Mercury Music Prize nominated indie band -- infamously championed by another law breaker, the Libertines' Pete Doherty -- are currently on a full UK tour whilst preparing the release of their as-yet-untitled third album.

The View are no strangers to having their collar felt by the long arm of the law. Their charge sheet so far includes being refused US visas after lead singer Kyle Falconer [pictured] was convicted for cocaine possession and they are possibly the only band to be banned from Travelodge hotels nationwide, after flooding two floors of the Liverpool branch of the B&B chain.
