Wavves Frontman Busted For Pot in Germany

Germany is a long way from California, or so Wavves frontman and San Diego resident Nathan Williams found out this week, when he was arrested -- and jailed -- for possession of marijuana. While being thrown in the slammer on foreign soil is no laughing matter, Williams certainly found some humor in it, at least.

"Arrested in Germany by a guy w/ a Metallica patch on his Polizei jacket," Williams tweeted on Friday. "Out on bail fresh out of jail Munich dreamin' #ridethelightning."

It gets better. Pitchfork reports that William released a statement saying, "We got stopped at a roadside check and I had six bags in the car and they only found one -- the f---ing dogs never work." How's that for looking on the bright side? Still, William admits that -- high or not -- being imprisoned wasn't all chocolate and roses. "More so because I'm an American in a German jail and not because I have long gay hair," he clarifies.

After being released on bail, William said his first act as a freed man was the obvious -- he smoked out. California, represent!
