Ray Davies Cancels US Tour Due to Illness

"Ray Davies' US tour dates have been cancelled," the singer's reps said in a statement. "Ray personally did not want to cancel this tour but was ordered by his doctors not to fly or travel until his medical condition has stabilized to their satisfaction. At this moment, his doctors could not provide a time frame as to when he could travel to the US and advised him to cancel [the] dates."
Davies' most recent release, 'See My Friends,' was a collaborative LP that found his classic Kinks tracks recreated with the help of musicians like Spoon's Britt Daniel, Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi. The release also said that Davies wished to thank all of his fans and asks for some privacy to work through his illness.

ray is 66 years old and has more energy than most 30 year olds,he is one of rockes greatest performers and its obvious he loves to play,to think that a mature man doesnt have health issues is a bit odd.I worked in rock and roll radio for years and he is still the best live act i have ever scene and all i can say i get well soon Ray and dave please get alongside your brother on stage,individually you guys are great but together,its something from another spere,be well,Mark Trafford.

Yes, Ray does indeed have an ego, but then again, name one performer that doesn't. It's that ego that gets them up on stage every show to perform for thousands of people. It's what drives performances. I met Dave in 1972 and found him to be a very nice guy. He seemed very real, and not like some other stars that I've met. If you want to talk about over inflated egos, meet Steve Perry sometime. That dude feels the sun rises and sets on his command! Don't buy into what the tabloids say about these people. You'll find that in most cases, the actual truth about these stars is a complete 180 from what is reported. If Ray has called off any shows I would believe that illness is the cause. The man loves his work and at his age, it's probably what keeps him going...

Ummm, the tabloids don't have news about rock stars, unless they're dating someone like Jen Aniston or Kate Hudson. Let's just say I've heard stuff about Ray from other sources, & leave it at that.
