Before their gig, members Dan Boeckner and Arlen Thompson revealed to Spinner that the band is going on hiatus so they can focus on other projects.
"We've been going at it pretty hard for the last year, so it's time to take a rest," Thompson tells Spinner.
"Arlen and I and Alexi are actually getting together in January to make a new Handsome Furs record so it's not like we won't see each other," Boeckner adds. "I'm actually going on tour immediately after this; the Furs are going on tour in Eastern Europe right away."
Over the weekend, Wolf Parade's unofficial fan site reported that the Montreal band would be going on an "indefinite hiatus" after singer-keyboardist Spencer Krug told the Toronto audience: "This is the last show we'll play for a long time." Boeckner later confirmed to the website that the news was indeed true, but said the band has plans to play a couple of shows in 2011.
