Even if you've sworn off watching the Grammy Awards, every year the nominees and winners will end up on your radar thanks to the massive influence of the ceremony.
Last year, the big winners in the rock category were Kings of Leon, who took home Best Rock Performance by a group and Best Rock Song, while Bruce Springsteen, Phoenix and Green Day also received statues. The 2011 crop of nominees will be announces at 10PM ET on Wednesday night during a special concert featuring Katy Perry, B.o.B., Miranda Lambert and Justin Bieber on CBS.
With competition coming from tonight's performers, Eminem, Lady Antebellum and Jay-Z, it will be tough for rock acts to crack the top nods, but Florence and the Machine and Mumford and Sons could make a run for a statue or two. Arcade Fire and Muse could also be poised to overtake lighter-rocking acts such as Train in some of the rock categories.
The 53rd Grammy Awards will air Feb. 13 on CBS.
