Spinner sat down with Metric's Emily Haines and LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy before their respective shows on the opening night of Art Basel Miami Beach 2010. As Haines revealed, that night's free concert was the band's last in support of their 2009 breakthrough album 'Fantasies,' but it won't be long before we hear from them again.
"It's exciting because we get to take a minute off, probably over the holidays," Haines said. "Then we're gonna get back to the studio and make another record."
Unfortunately, as fans know, that's not the case for LCD Soundsystem, who were set to play a private hotel gig later that evening, with Metric in the audience. "LCD Soundsystem as a band is not gonna tour anymore after next year," mastermind James Murphy told Spinner. "It doesn't mean we won't make an album per se, but the process will be very different. We're done being just a pro rock ensemble."
