Pomegranates Cap Tour With a Hometown Show -- Road Report

Pomegranates just wrapped their tour with Oh No! Oh My! in support of their third full-length album, 'One of Us.' The release marks the first with the Cincinnati natives' new album Afternoon Records, and co-produced by the band and TJ Lipple of Aloha.

The four-piece has been checking in throughout their cross-country trek, and in their last entry, fans get to hear about their adventures leading up to their hometown show in Ohio. Get a taste of Isaac Karns' grandma's home cooking, and see the beauty of a gas station through Daniel Lyon's eyes after the jump.

Denton, Texas

After a good night's rest in Austin, we headed to Denton to stay with Isaac's grandma. She had a feast prepared for us! Isaac's grandma's house usually comes with five awesome things: all-you-can-eat dinner, snacks, and desserts; her awesome conversations and stories; a hot tub/pool; two crazy dogs; and beds to sleep in.

After playing Hailey's (thanks to all who run this joint, you are too kind), we went back and enjoyed the hot tub, and snacks.

We awoke to an amazing breakfast of quiche, fruit, and coffee, then hit the road.

Memphis, Tennessee

We had a pretty drive to Memphis. It's funny how after you stop at probably 500-plus gas stations they start to look the same. Either way, we always find a way to linger at these places, trying to escape the van for a bit.

We arrived at the Hi-Dive and we all watched 'Casino' for the first time with subtitles at the bar. Ha. Wow, that movie is intense, even with not hearing anything! We met up with our friend Luke from Colour Revolt (we love you, and miss you), caught up a bit, played and slept the night away in a motel.

Lexington, Kentucky.

We arrived early to Cosmic Charlies, which, of course, was "galaxy themed." The only thing that was tacky was the Marvin the Martian painting. Other than that, we are totally down to space out ;). All of the staff were very kind. We treated ourselves to some of Kentucky's finest Bourbon and had a great show.

Driving through the night home, we all felt the sense of urgency, as beds, girlfriends and homes were waiting for us.

Cincinnati, Ohio!!!!!

We played a fantastic show at the Southgate House with our friends Pop Empire and The Sleeping Sea. We could not have asked for a better welcome home after traveling for 23 days. It was a lot of fun, now we need to do some more writing. Hope to head out again soon. We should be touring to SXSW again, so look for us there!
