"We always think that when we get to a point where we've achieved something, it's time to stop," Albarn told Australian newspaper the Age this week. "I couldn't keep going at this size and pace."
Meanwhile, Hewlett was a little more direct in the interview. "This would be a wonderful point to leave Gorillaz," he said. "At the end of this tour, I think." Still, Hewlett was quick to add, "That's not a statement."
"This tour, with these people," he continued, "is a one-off. It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We'll never repeat this."
So, this may or may not mean that the group behind the 'Clint Eastwood' and 'Stylo' is finished. "We'll see how we feel in January," Albarn said, "[After] a period of reflection and sobriety."
