My Chemical Romance 'Reboot' Career With 'Danger Days' -- Exclusive Video

Earlier this year, My Chemical Romance told Spinner about an album that they ended up abandoning in favor of their new record, 'Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.' While that shelved project may still see the light of day, the band decided to change directions and return to the conceptual route that made 'The Black Parade' such a success.

"There's no story to follow, there are no characters to follow," Way tells Spinner of 'Danger Days.' "The reason for that change was an extreme dissatisfaction with not being able to be ourselves really."

"The stuff that we were working on before, just the mindset, the year before, there was so much of the band that we were turning our backs on," guitarist Ray Toro adds.

It may have been a winding road to get to 'Danger Days,' but despite some internet rumors earlier this year that put the band's future in doubt, Way says that could not be further from the truth. "I hear potential," he says of the new album. "I hear a really bright future as opposed to an end. 'Danger Days' feels like a reboot of the band."
