"These are strange hours for a rock star," he said, after pretending to wipe his brow. His entrance caused such a commotion that the show's audio cut out for a moment when the audience started screaming. Later they shouted a few catcalls -- "Love you, Prince!" one fan yelled -- to which he coolly responded, "Love you back."
Prince was there with a handful of free concert tickets to promote his upcoming "Welcome 2 America" shows and only hung around for a few minutes. He did take time to offer some career advice to Justin Bieber, after Barbara Walters, who had recently interviewed the teen sensation, told Prince that he was Bieber's idea of the "consummate performer."
"The key to longevity is to learn every aspect of music you can," Prince told Walters. "I hope he does pick up an instrument and get a good teacher." He then abruptly left after co-host Sherri Shepherd admitted that she wanted to make love to him.
