Libertines and Arctic Monkeys Supergroup to Release Album

Carl Barat, Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders, Babyshambles bassist Drew McConnell and Super Furry Animals frontman Gruff Rhys have been taking time off from their day jobs to form a new supergroup.

Recording under the name the Bottletop Band, other musicians involved include Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, VV Brown, Sam Sparro, Fink, Reverend and the Makers, Eliza Doolittle and Tim Burgess -- and all proceeds from the outfit go to charity.

A single, 'Fall Of Rome,' is available to download from the band's official website now.

The album, 'Dream Service.' will be released on April 11 next year.

NME.com reports the project is a collaboration between Brazilian musicians and the aforementioned British players.

All the profits will fund education and employment projects for young people in Brazil, Africa and the UK.
