The appearance came just three days after the 30th anniversary of Lennon's murder at the hands of deranged fan Mark David Chapman. The Beatle also appeared in the monologue with host Paul Rudd, participated in a Weekend Update segment with Seth Meyers and acted in Andy Samberg's "Stumblin'" digital short. As the credits rolled, McCartney and his band returned to the stage to sing another Beatles favorite, 'Get Back.'
In related news, McCartney will perform an intimate concert Monday night in front of just 1400 fans at Harlem's legendary Apollo Theater. The show is part of Sirius Satellite Radio's celebration of 20 million subscribers.
