Carrie Miller, Ghostly International
Who: Michna
Hails From: New York City/Miami
Why We Love Him: A New Yorker by-way-of Miami, Berlin and Vienna, Adrian Michna has spent almost two decades spinning wildly unique electronic music that even caught the attention of producer Diplo, who introduced the young artist to the world of production. Michna's eccentric sound paired with an infectious stage presence has made him one of NYC's most sought-after DJs, as well as a Spinner favorite. He can be seen this Saturday at the Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival.

Exclusive Q&A With Michna:
What's your favourite album right now?
For 2010 it's probably Yeasayer, 'Odd Blood.'
Tell us about the first concert you ever saw.
Primus at Roseland Ballroom NYC October 1993. I think Meat Puppets opened. Les Claypool had some epic banter about NYC taxi drivers, wish I could remember.
What's your biggest vice?
Diet Coke. All soda = bad.
How did you get the DJ moniker "Egg Foo Young"?
My original DJ name was "Dusk One" so one day I said to my dad, "Hey what do you think of the name DJ Dusk One?" He replied, "WHAT? Egg Foo Young?"
We hear you have some pretty interesting hobbies. What takes up most of your time outside of music?
Lately it has been building bikes. Just spent loot cakes on a White Industries ENO freewheel. I guess also to emphasize that I don't do fixed.
What's the best part about living in Brooklyn?
It's peaceful and real. Manhattan is now mostly inhabited by people from your high school who were big Dave Matthews fans or played Lacrosse or both.
What is your favorite NYC party spot?
The Cove in Billyburg goes hard.
