Recorded at Salford's Blueprint Studios with keyboardist Craig Potter taking on producer duties, frontman Guy Garvey was initially unsure about the follow-up to 2008's critically-acclaimed 'The Seldom Seen Kid.'
Speaking to BBC 6 Music (via the NME), Garvey said, "I didn't know whether it was good or not for a couple of weeks, but I'm very happy with it now."
As previously reported by Spinner, the band undertake their biggest tour to date in March, with Garvey promising a spectacle, "There will be some theatre involved. There are a few very special guests on the record, and hopefully they'll be coming out with us live as well."
The move up the venue ladder to arenas was a definite influence when it came to writing 'Build a Rocket Boys!.' Garvey explained, "It's impossible not to consider where you're going to play your music live when you write it. We very arrogantly assumed we were going to be playing arenas very early on."
