On Thursday, the frontman told Rolling Stone that if the reaction to the New Year's Eve show is good (he's apparently the only guy in the country who has any doubt), the Flaming Lips will consider scheduling a series of shows where they play some of their other records in entirety.
"It seemed as though we should start with this one and see if anybody gives a s---," he said. "People always ask us to do those types of shows."
He also revealed that starting next month, the band will hit the studio with the intention of recording songs they will release each month throughout 2011. Coyne didn't offer any details for how the music would be released.
"We want to try to live through our music as we create it instead of it being a collection of the last couple years of our lives," he said, also noting that they will probably include videos alongside the new tracks.
