If you're a fan of any of the aforementioned bands but you couldn't score tickets or get to the show, you're in luck...with one caveat: you must be a Sirius XM Radio subscriber. The satellite radio provider will broadcast New Year's Eve shows from those bands, and others, live on the respective genre-appropriate channels.
And the party doesn't stop there, so ADD-types and channel surfers needn't worry: Sirius channel 78 and XM channel 70 will become dedicated New Year's Eve channels for 24 hours beginning at noon ET on Dec. 31, acting as a hub for celebrations worldwide. Additionally, Paul McCartney's prerecorded Dec. 13 performance from the Apollo Theater in New York will air on Sirius channel 33 and XM channel 27, beginning at 9PM ET. And a prerecorded show from Eminem, featuring 50 Cent, Drake, B.o.B. and Dr. Dre will air beginning at 8PM ET on Eminem's own Sirius Shade 45 channel (and on XM channel 66).
Other channels will present other options as well -- including historic shows by Bruce Springsteen, Willie Nelson, David Bowie, Flaming Lips and Vampire Weekend -- so pour yourself a glass of champagne from your own open bar, light a fire and dial it in. Cheers!
