Hail From: New York City
Song: 'Swimming After Dark'
Sounds Like: The Rolling Stones, MGMT
In Their Words: "I wrote this song about a maniac friend being in love with a girl. It follows their story without ever resolving, it just kind of revolves around a night and everything that brought them there. We tried to give the song more of a live recording vibe and [make it] super-driving to convey the sense of urgency within the story. We recorded the drums and guitar live in upstate New York and the rest I did at St. Marks studio, which is what I call my studio at my apartment on St. Marks in Manhattan." -- Singer/guitarist Richie James Follin
