The instrumental track is the first new material since her contribution, 'The Comet Song,' to the soundtrack of the Moomins movie last year. The epic piece of music, which features distorted brass, is taken from her upcoming 'Biophilia' science fiction musical project which she is working on with iconic pop video maker turner Hollywood director Michel Gondry.
The pair have worked together on seven of the Icelandic singer's videos (including 'Human Behaviour,' 'Army of Me' and 'Declare Independence') and Gondry approached her to star in his film 'The Science of Sleep' (she refused following her traumatic experiences as an actress in 'Dancer in the Dark'). Although rumoured for the past 18 months neither of them is yet to speak about the project.
According to Bjork's official YouTube page she is preparing an album for the end of 2011 although it remains uncertain whether this new album will be her secretive project with Gondry.
The app, Solar System for iPad, on sale for £7.99 ($12.37) is described at the iTunes app store as, "A breakthrough electronic book about the Solar System, offering hours of interactive exploration and presenting a treasure trove of visual information."
