Carlos Santana Marries Drummer Cindy Blackman in Hawaii

Carlos Santana is hitched again after he wed fellow musician Cindy Blackman last month.

The couple tied the knot Dec. 19 at a private ceremony in Hawaii, witnessed by nearly 200 guests, including Santana's longtime friends and jazz greats Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hancock, who also performed at the event.

Santana is clearly smitten with his new bride, a renowned jazz and rock drummer best known for her work with Lenny Kravitz. He recently told People.com that "Cindy is a match with everything that I am, from fire of passion to vulnerability. Everything tastes better when you share it with your soul mate."

Shortly after proposing, he said in a statement that "being in love is a gift from the universe, and the spirit and vibrations that come with it are infinitely powerful."

Santana, who at 63 is 12 years Blackman's senior, proposed to his new wife back in July while onstage at one of his concerts outside Chicago. Out of respect for a fellow virtuoso, he waited until she had finished an extended solo before he got down on one knee.

The guitarist was previously married for 34 years to wife Deborah, with whom he had three children. The couple divorced in 2007.
