Artist: Discodeine
Video: 'Synchronize' Feat. Jarvis Cocker
Highlight: "We were originally trying to do a cover of Phil Collins' 'I'm Not Moving' (to me, the only decent track he ever made)," Pilloski of Discodeine tells Spinner. "We started to mess about with some piano lines, then thought about doing a Philly strings arrangement kind of thing to make it more melancholic. We wrote and recorded the live strings in a bedroom. As usual when you write songs, it always ends up sounding completely different as originally planned. We were looking for a pop singer to sing on top of it. We'd just been with Jarvis in Parisian restaurant. We always loved Jarvis' lyrics and thought he'd be perfect for the song, so we proposed it to him and he kindly accepted to come down to the studio to record these very poetic lines he's famous for."
