It comes following a surprise live appearance together last weekend. On Friday, Welch attended the first installment of Drake's two-night stand at the Hammersmith Apollo in London watching the show from the audience, reports The Sun.
She enjoyed it so much she returned on Saturday to appear on stage with the 24-year-old Canadian rapper. The pair performed 'Fireworks' from his debut album 'Thank Me Later,' with Welch singing Alicia Key's part from the studio version.
Welch and Drake hit it off after meeting at the MTV Music Awards last year and have stayed in touch ever since. It's not clear where the new track will appear, but it may feature on the follow-up to Florence and the Machine's 2009 No. 1-charting debut 'Lungs'. Welch has been working on the new album since October and has said that it will be "eclectic" and feature less "blood and guts."
Meanwhile, Florence and the Machine are due to support U2 on four dates of the Irish band's 24-date North American 360° Tour, which starts in May.
