Speaking "on behalf of the Rick Nelson family," Gunnar Nelson said that they will "all miss Uncle Dave's laughter and evolved sense of humor. I'm sure that Grandpa Ozzie, Grandma Harriet, and our pop, Rick, were all waiting for him to welcome him home when his time came."
Under the name Nelson, the Nelson brothers became arena rock stars for a hot minute in the early '90s, based largely on a string of hits, including '(Can't Live Without Your) Love and Affection,' from their best-selling album 'After the Rain.' The brothers have been plotting something of a comeback in 2011, with a follow-up to 'After the Rain' that was twenty years in the making -- entitled 'Lightning Strikes Twice,' it finally drops in the U.S. on February 15.

As a writer, I was pedaling my songs and ran into him. We was very pleasant and low keyed, with a great sense of humor...rest in peace Dave.
My sympathy to the whole Nelson Family...As stated above by another the Nelsons were a big part of a whole generation, both on radio and t.v. I remember reading in the papers how good he was to Rick's family after Rick's death, and how he helped out...May David rest in peace...The whole family will be missed...

They were stable, well mannered, with parents that were warm and considerate. It would be nice to go back to that time when tv shows like The Nelsons gave us hope and a sense of what love a family could have and share with each other.
