Johnny Marr Offered 'Serious' Book Deal for Autobiography

Former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr says while there's no timeline, he will get around to writing a book. Marr revealed the information on his Twitter site Jan. 15.

"I have been offered a book deal, a serious one," Marr wrote. "I'd get into it and that would mean less time on songs. It will happen though."

A follow up post said it "will be an autobiography of course, that or about my collection of fascinating public bus tickets from the '80s. That would be cool."

There's no word as to the publisher nor the amount of money Marr would be paid for the book.

Marr's work with Hans Zimmer on the score for the motion picture 'Inception' was nominated for a Golden Globe. However, the award went to Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for 'The Social Network' last night (Jan. 16).

Marr -- who has worked with Modest Mouse and the Cribs -- also recently worked and co-wrote songs with former Orange Juice member Edwyn Collins. Collins' new album, 'Losing Sleep,' will be released in North America March 22.
