Reznor and Ross aren't exactly a shoo-in to walk away with the prize, given that the category is consistently competitive. This year, the other nominees include Hans Zimmer for 'Inception,' A. R. Rahman for '127 Hours,' John Powell -- the only composer in the list not nominated for a Golden Globe -- for 'How to Train Your Dragon' and Alexandre Desplat for 'The King's Speech.' Rahman was also nominated in the Best Original Song for 'If I Rise,' which he worked on with Dido and Rollo Armstrong. Cher's 'You Haven't Seen the Last of Me Yet,' the 'Burlesque' song that won at the Golden Globes, did not receive a nomination.
Reznor is already at work on a soundtrack for a new film, 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,' also directed by Fincher. It's scheduled to be released in December.
