Tori Amos Musical Set for London Stage

Tori Amos will be taking her talents to the London stage next year. The singer-songwriter has written the music and lyrics for a piece based on a 19th-century fairytale, 'The Light Princess' by George MacDonald, the AP reports.

Amos collaborated with Australian playwright Samuel Adamson on the musical about a princess who's been cursed with a lack of gravity that causes her to float around unless she is swimming. Marianne Elliott has been slated to direct.

Barring any 'Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark'-like delays, Amos' production is set to open on at the National Theatre in April 2012. Aside from a limited edition live album, 'From Russia With Love,' Amos' last release was 2009's 'Midwinter Graces.'
