Sir Elton John's Life Story to Be Turned Into 'Moulin Rouge Type' Movie

Sir Elton John is set to become the latest musician to have his life-story told on the silver screen. The knight-of-the realm revealed he is currently working with 'Billy Elliot' writer Lee Hall on the movie which will take the form of a musical.

Speaking on BBC Radio 2 (via the Guardian), Sir Elton told host Chris Evans his hopes and vision for the project. "I'd just like to make a really great film about my life story. We have a great script already by Lee Hall ... It will be more of a fantasy -- 'Moulin Rouge' type of stuff."

He continued, "Obviously, it's not going to be your normal, run-of-the-mill film. My life's been so surreal, from buying a football club to God knows what."

With his much-publicised and flamboyant ways seemingly in the past, Sir Elton is happier than he's ever been and clearly relishes not only life with his partner David Furnish and their newly arrived son Zachary, but also sleeping in his own bed.

"When I come off stage now I have a balance in my life" John explained. "Until I found that [balance] in 1990, I came off stage and I didn't know what to do with myself. Now I fly home every night after a show and I get back in my own bed. I have a wonderful partner in David, I have wonderful friends. I can remember things."
