Allen filed the suit against the paper's parent company, Associated Newspapers, on Nov. 10. According to documents filed at the High Court, Allen was forced to take the extreme security measures after the Daily Mail's website published a series of photographs of her £3 million ($4.8 million) country mansion.
The incident caused Allen "considerable distress and anxiety" and the suit claims the photos and accompanying report left the singer exposed to any number of stalkers and obsessives. Allen went on to claim that the offending article contained the property's name, address and location as well as giving out details of the mansion's private gardens and rear exterior.
Contactmusic.com reports that Allen has installed a state-of-the-art gate entry system, intruder alarms and CCTV surveillance cameras and is seeking between £50,000 to £100,000 in damages.
Allen has been through something of a litigious period of late. In October 2010, she won damages from a French magazine after it falsely said that she called Victoria Beckham a "monster" and Cheryl Cole "stupid and superficial".
