Former Smashing Pumpkins Bassist D'Arcy Jailed for Horses Run Amok

Here's a good life lesson: If you own horses, make sure your stable is secure. D'arcy Wretzky, the former Smashing Pumpkins bassist and '90s fashion icon, didn't do this back in 2009 and her horses ran free, terrorizing the neighbors in her Michigan town. D'arcy subsequently received a ticket for "Animals Running at Large," never paid up and missed four court dates, so she's been arrested.

TMZ broke the news earlier Thursday that the arrest was due to a bench warrant from those four consecutive court absences. D'arcy is currently in prison and will be released on Feb. 14. The incident, which was unknown to the public prior to this morning, was revealed to the gossip site by Wretzsky's ex-boyfriend Jeff Khoshaba along with a particularly intense mug shot taken after her arrest.

Wretzsky appears to have lived a generally rough life since leaving the Smashing Pumpkins at the turn of the millennium to pursue an acting career. Back then, she was arrested for crack cocaine possession, lived privately for a number of years and then reemerged in 2009 to explain to Chicago radio station Q101 FM that she was unfit to perform music anymore and couldn't participate in a planned reunion of her influential band.

Holy shit - she looks like she belongs on Portland's #72 bus (the avenue of roses / SE 82nd). I see meth heads like this all the time on that crazy line. What a sad, pathetic fall from grace.

Really sad to see so many insensitive comments.
Is it a girl or a guy? What does it matter, she is a human being just like the people that made those ignorant comments.
She obviously has drug problems, but at the end of the day she is human like the rest of us.

I think it is sad that we want to joke about a person during their worst moments in life.
I hope she gets help for her drug addiction and I hope her creepy ex boyfriend develops some compassion. Selling this picture and story is the ultimate in bad behavior. Shame on him.
