Aside from riding the wave of anticipation brought about by their BBC Sound of 2011 poll third place and a host of 'next big thing' critical notices, the rescheduling helps the Vaccines avoid confusion with another troupe of sharply-dressed, new wave guitar wielding indie boys, the Strokes. The reunited New Yorkers are releasing their long awaited comeback album 'Angles' on the March 21.
'What Did You Expect from the Vaccines?' includes recent singles 'If You Wanna,' 'Post Break-Up Sex' and the Ramones-esque 'Wreckin' Bar (Ra Ra Ra).' The Vaccines have been garnering breathless media coverage since forming last year, helped by a scenester pedigree that includes former alt-folky and friend of Mumford and Sons, Laura Marling et al Justin Young (previously known as Jay Jay Pistolet) on vocals, and Freddie Cowan -- brother of the Horrors' Tom -- on guitar.
The Columbia-signed rockers are currently on a tour of the UK.
