Spalding comes as a breath of fresh air among this year's pop talent. Primarily known as a jazz bassist, the Portland, Ore., native has been a professor at Berklee College of Music and has recorded with M. Ward.
Her most recent album, 'Chamber Music Society,' was recorded in 2010 and features Spalding's vocals and upright bass playing. 2011 is already looking great for the young singer and we wish her continued success.
