Diane Birch Hopes for Less Gambling and Tears This Valentine's Day

Indie songstress Diane Birch's love life hasn't been all sunshine and roses. Spinner caught up with her recently to talk about her past Valentine's Day misfires and what she'll be doing this year.

Tell us about your best/worst/craziest V-day moment?

One really pitiful Valentine's Day, my loser boyfriend at the time had promised to take me to a romantic dinner and do the whole thing right. Well, around 5PM he called me moaning about how he'd just gambled all his money away on a poker machine. We then proceeded to get into a huge fight and I ended up staying home crying.

Do you have plans for v-day? How do you approach it?

My boyfriend has promised to cook me a delicious dinner. Since we always eat out this will be more special. Afterward, we're dressing up crazy and going out for drinks someplace glamorous! Usually we don't want to buy into the system of spending loads of money and feeling like a sheep sitting in a restaurant next to loads of other couples but we still want to have a romantic time just not so predictable.
