Paul McCartney Pens 'Exciting' Ballet Score

You probably won't see Paul McCartney in a tutu anytime soon, but the Beatles legend revealed he has written the score for an upcoming ballet. While details are still a secret, Macca says that project's specifics will be revealed in the very near future.

"I have been working on a ballet for a while," McCartney told the Sun. "I'll be making a proper announcement in a few weeks. It's a really exciting project for me."

According to the report, McCartney has spent part of the last year working on the music to the score, which is slated to become "a big New York production."

McCartney made the revelation on Sunday night during an appearance at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards in London. He was on hand to present the BAFTA Original Music trophy to Alexandre Desplat for his efforts on 'The King's Speech' soundtrack.

Later that same night he pulled down a Best Male Rock Vocal Grammy for his rendition of the Beatles' 'Helter Skelter,' which appeared on his 2009 concert disc 'Good Evening New York City.'
