"I feel like I didn't really take advantage of it," Brownstein tells Spinner. "I should take a raincheck or something, go into the city and do some looting. I think I was actually out of town. Maybe there was a parade. I have [Adams'] proclamation on my fridge -- that's about as far as I went. It's not even framed, but it is currently being held up by my favorite magnet."
A second season also means Brownstein gets to put even more of her favorite celebrities through the show's wacky comedic paces.
"We were astounded that no one actually said no whose reasons weren't schedule-oriented. But no one said 'No way, this sounds like a preposterous idea'," she says. "Frances McDormand had to say no because of a scheduling conflict, but we hope to get her on the second season. But we were shocked and really flattered that so many people wanted to be on the show."
In the meantime, check out a clip from the Feb. 18 episode of 'Portlandia,' which features the Shins' James Mercer, the Decemberists' Colin Meloy and and Sleater-Kinney's Corin Tucker as the fictional band Echo Echo.
