Elbow's Guy Garvey Hints at Glastonbury Appearance

It looks like Elbow could be set to join the fledgling line-up for this year's Glastonbury -- described by Guy Garvey as the "best festival in the world year on year" -- after the frontman strongly alluded to the possibility in an interview.

Speaking to BBC Newsbeat about this year's festival season, he said: "I'm not sure what I'm allowed to tell you and what I'm not. We are definitely going to be playing some festivals in the UK. All the best ones, let's put it that way."

Garvey also gave his views on the news Beyonce will close the festival. He said: "If they chose Beyonce to close it's because they know it'll be a fantastic finish."

Given the reaction her husband Jay-Z received in 2008, Garvey has no worries about Beyonce's ability to close the festival in style. He explained: "There was lots of controversy when Jay-Z was invited to play but what a hit that was. That was the fullest that the Pyramid Stage had ever seen that field."

Ultimately Garvey has faith in the festival's organisers. He said: "Let them choose what goes on. They've got more experience than anyone else on earth and it'll be fantastic like it always is."
