NME reports that the fan, known as Alistair, approached Doherty, after a gig last year in Manchester, England asking if the Libertines and Babyshambles frontman could help him raise some funds. Doherty offered to send him some petty cash (around $30) and a blood painting. He made good on one of those two things -- Doherty actually sent the fan a 32"x32" self-portrait. The original blood painting was signed, "For Alistair, love Peter."
The price tag is about on-par with previous sales of Doherty's blood paintings. Click here if you're interested in buying the bloody piece of artwork or if you want to peep an image of it. Hopefully some judge somewhere in the future will take note and preemptively cut him some slack for good behavior.
