Widespread Panic Honored by Georgia Congress for 25 Years of Rock 'n' Roll

It was a surprising and welcome addition to Panic's 25th anniversary celebrations that they have planned throughout 2011. Rumors are that, following their conclusion, the band plans to take some time off before revving up their perpetual tour machine again. Guitarist John Bell, drummer Todd Nance and percussionist Sunny Ortitz attended the ceremony and performed an acoustic song in front of the awkward but well-intentioned lawmakers. Other performers to receive similar honors from Georgia in the past include natives Ray Charles and James Brown. Check out priceless video of the unusual performance below.
