"Darling daughter Viva Katherine Wainwright Cohen was born on February 2, 2011 in Los Angeles, California to proud parents Lorca Cohen, Rufus Wainwright and Deputy Dad Jorn Weisbrodt," said a statement on Wainwright's website.
Neal Preston, Corbis
"The little angel is evidently healthy, presumably happy and certainly very, very beautiful. Daddy #1 would like to offer everyone a digital cigar and welcome the little lady in with a French phrase from his favorite folk song, A La Claire Fontaine: "Il y a longtemps que je t'aime, jamais je ne t'oublierai."
This is the first baby for Wainwright -- who released his sixth studio album, 'All Days Are Nights: Songs for Lulu,' last year -- and his fiancé Weisbrodt. Given her incredible genes, we'll likely see Viva Katherine lighting up the stage alongside her famous family in the years to come.

That is so delightful! I am sure that Mr. Leonard Cohen must be a very proud grandpa!

If every child was born to the same share of love and dignity, the world would be a better place. Blessings to her and her family.

Substance A is injected into Leonard Cohen's granddaughter, where it combines with substance B to produce a baby. Rufus and John then raise the child. Leonard Cohen's granddaughter either goes her merry way, remains engaged with the child under some sort of an arrangement between the three, or this all gets very messy some years down the line.
And Viva Paper Towels Wainwright Cohen Weisbrodt for the rest of her life has a ice breaker of a story to relate every time conversation grinds to a screaming halt.
Make that Leonard Cohen's daughter, not granddaughter. Hard to believe Leonard Cohen has a daughter still in her child bearing years. Then again, that would be the least unusual portion of this particular story, so I'm not surprised I missed it.

Hope that clears up the confusion.........
Although I like to think the child was conceived during a loving three-way fornication whilst Rufus version of Granddaddy Cohen's Hallelujah played in the background!
This is so poorly written that I have no idea what is actually going on. What is a "deputy dad"? I'm guessing that Wainwright is gay? He's having Leonard Cohen's daughter get pregnant with this deputy dad's sperm and then will take over as parent? The Michael Jackson scenario? Is this child supposed to grow up with a gay man and no mother?
