Duffy Set to Quit Music?

The Welsh singer who burst onto the pop scene on the back of 2008's 'Rockferry' album, racking up huge sales around the world, has failed to replicate that success with last year's follow-up.
Her decline has been as dramatic as her rise which peaked just before she appeared in adverts for Diet Coke. Since then the 26-year old has seen sales rapidly decline with her most recent single 'Well Well Well' only selling 4,000 copies on its first week of release.
Now according to a source close to the singer, Duffy's had enough. The source told the Daily Mirror, "She's really down about the last album, 'Endlessly'. It didn't sell well and charted terribly and she isn't trying again and making a comeback."
Instead the insider claimed Duffy now wants to "have babies, get married and live in the country" with her rugby-playing boyfriend Mike Phillips.
The source continued, "She wants to have a quiet life and start over. Duffy made a truckload of cash with the first album and through her endorsements with Diet Coke, so she's comfortable and able to enjoy some down-time. She's not got management right now and has met a few people about taking over. But she's just not interested,"

After the first album, I was expecting to see loads of live performances on tv shows and interviews etc etc but nothing seemed to happen. What a shame for someone with such a lovely and unique voice. I think some of the older jazzy type songs might have been good, perhaps similar to some of Rebecca Fergusons songs which she sang on xfactor.

It seems to me that today's young music patrons have more of a taste for theatrics than musical talent. Duff obviously has a great singing voice. She could sound great singing songs that Celine Dion sings -- perhaps use the same song writer? DUFFY -- NEVER GIVE UP! You simply have too much talent. Perhaps it's the songs; certainly not your talent.

Her latest album sounded like she was being tortured. I prayed to God that "Well, Well, Well!" would end. He answered my prayers. Definitely a far cry from "Mercy".

"Mercy" was a great song! It showed the promise of a new pop star.
I've never even heard of "Well, Well, Well".
(Doesn't "three times" justify choice?)
Duffy is entitled to pursue her dreams, if she doesn't mind being relegated to a one-hit wonder.
