That got the attention of Rolling Stone, who included Broussard in their 'Choose the Cover' contest in which one unsigned artist or band will grace the front of the magazine. Recently, Broussard released her latest YouTube video, a cover of Beyonce's 'Single Ladies' that showcases her arranging and vocal abilities as she jams out on an acoustic guitar.
"It's a really cool thing because you don't really need that big label behind you to have fans and put your music out there and have people find you and love your music," she told L.A. Music Blog about how she uses the Web for her career. "It's a great thing to be able to do it yourself, and it's pretty empowering."
Check out Broussard's music at RollingStone.com and take a look at the other nominated bands. You can vote for Lelia Broussard below.

i LOVED IT. I loved Beyonce's, too. It is a great song. Why can't two people sing it differently and BOTH be GREAT?

Thats why she has to perform like a hooker in heat on stage to sell her songs whick are not much more than koon rap covered up with back up singers and musicians.

You are just a jealous individual who hates the fact that a beautiful black women has crossed over into mainstream America and is making big dollars doing so. BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL! Partly because black comes in all shades from white-appearing to the darkest, bluest black. Where-as white only comes in pink or pale. Stop hating!

February 27 2011 at 11:47 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI liked it a lot. Very talented. And I am a huge Beyonce fan. At least I understood the words in her version.
February 27 2011 at 10:57 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplySomeone really needs to tell all these people who THINK they can sing, that the truth is, they can't.
Pretty sad.
Those lyrics that you think are dumb has made Beyonce millions. Money maker would be the better word if you want to really describe her lyrics.
February 27 2011 at 9:03 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replythat's cause people are willing to buy anything that shows' beyonce's attributes and has a good beat...jee
