Speaking to the Daily Record, O'Donoghue fumed, "I am not a big Pulp fan. Jarvis Cocky. I'm not into him at all. I don't like his style. I don't like his music. I won't be steering clear of him, but he should be steering clear of me."
He continued, "I have watched his career. I'd like to think Pulp are coming out with a new album or that he wants to really do a job in the music industry, but I am sure they will release a single, do a tour, make their money and go home."
Quite where these sour grapes have come from is anybody's guess. Since Pulp's retreat from public life in 2001, Cocker has gone on to launch a solo career as well as establishing himself as a well respected broadcaster on BBC 6 Music. Not that any of this impresses O'Donoghue who added, "The audacity of Jarvis Cocker to think he is important enough for people to give a damn what he thinks."
Brave words, Mr O'Donoghue. And when did the Script carry off a Glastonbury performance like the one below?

Pulp made some classic tracks and albums that have and will be remembered for years and have influenced many other musicians after them.
Take That also went on tour before they released a new album, compared to Pulp they sold a lot more tickets based on nostalgia. I doubt if The Script broke up and reunited for a tour that anyone would care.
This is because The Script are dull, middle of the road rubbish and make music with no personality that will be easily forgotten and will not influence anyone talented.
