Their newest single, 'Catcher in the Rye,' isn't just a one-off track -- that's not their style. Billed as "the most extravagant single" in history, 'Catcher in the Rye' will be packaged in a 4GB USB stick and wrapped in a designer toy. Included are an impressive 110 tracks, 1500 concert photos, 20 music videos and an hour-long concert film.
"The song is about not knowing what to do with your life, and how that is totally cool," singer Fredrik Saroea tells Spinner. [It's inpired by] Holden Caulfield, the main character in J.D. Salinger's amazing novel, 'The Catcher in the Rye.'"
The video, directed by Frederic Esnault, was shot at Cedar St Courtyard in Austin, Texas for Datarock's release party. The new single, out March 21 via Young Aspiring Professionals, will be supported by a world tour, which includes dates at SXSW 2011.
