BBC News reports that the axe was stolen during the night of January 23 from lawful owner Paul Biver's art studio in London's Hoxton neighborhood. Police believe that more than one person was involved in the burglary and is asking for the public's help in cracking the case and retrieving the piece of rock memorabilia.
"I am appealing to members of the public to come forward if anybody has tried to sell them this rare, autographed Jack White guitar," Detective Constable Suzanne Raftery told the BBC. And indeed, you should definitely do that -- after shredding a quick 'Seven Nation Army,' of course.

Jack White (born 1975), singer, songwriter, guitarist and drummer - with the rock bands The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, and The Dead Weather; music producer and owner of Third Man Records; and occasional actor
Check out the video "It Might Get Loud" and maybe you will understaand why he is featured along with Jimmie Paige and The Edge...if not...your loss.
It's cool if you're a fan. People have different tastes in music and I understand that. I should give you the benefit of the doubt and check out that song you mentioned. As it is, I've seen The White Stripes and was totally and completely underwhelmed.

Then I got to your comment and I wanted to reach through this monitor and high five you. It Might Get Loud, one of the best Doc's I've seen.
February 27 2011 at 3:32 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWho the f would pay that kind of money for a guitar signed by some dink who is shagging his sister and writes crappy songs?
February 27 2011 at 1:35 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyStrats sound nice, but they're heavy and out of balance. Believe me, an hour into a show, you'd pay someone twenty four grand to take it away.

February 27 2011 at 12:35 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyProbably a very valuable guitar if it belonged to Jack White. He has a psych problem that prevents him using anything made after, I think, 1962. So, have you priced a pre 62 strat lately? .....
February 26 2011 at 11:25 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIf it's a pre-1962 Strat his signature on it would drop the value, so it must have been worth $30,000 before he signed it.

February 26 2011 at 10:28 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyYea, what exactly makes a Strat worth 24K, and how is the "unique" guitar any different than the other bazzillion Strats?
February 26 2011 at 10:23 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWho? A Fender strat is only worth about $1100; if it is made in America. Most of them are made in China or Mexico and are worth about $350.
February 26 2011 at 9:30 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replyi'm guessing here but probably american made while dwight Eisenhower or John F Kennedy were president. hence the high sticker price.
