The Yorkshire indie rockers had announced they were going on a break after last year's Reading and Leeds festivals in August, but posting on their official website, revealed that they would be playing this year's Rockness festival in Scotland.
A statement said, "Despite currently being on a break, unfortunately the Cribs are not superhuman and still have to eat, therefore they will be playing a handful of summer festival shows this year before heading into the studio to work on their fifth album.
"The first show to be announced this summer is RockNess Festival in Scotland where the Cribs headline the tent on Saturday night."
They join a bill which already includes Kasabian, Paolo Nutini, Glasvegas, the Chemical Brothers and the Wombats over June 10 to 12 in the village of Dores, close to Inverness.
As for the new album, the Cribs went on Twitter to tell their followers they'll be returning to the studio when the festival shows are over, more of which are to be announced.
The band's last album, the UK Top 10 'Ignore the Ignorant,' was released in September 2009 and was the first to feature new member Johnny Marr.
