Judging from the Kinks frontman's recent comments, one of rock's longest-running feuds is still in full swing, as Ray admitted he had not seen Dave Davies for a while.
In an interview with Q Magazine (via the Daily Express), Ray was reminded of his brother's comment that a reunion of the north London band would be like "a bad remake of 'Night Of The Living Dead.'" The currently solo artist replied: "I can understand what he's trying to say. I think it's a reference to comebacks in general."
He added, "The fortunate thing for me is that I was never a sexy frontman. Dave was always the pretty kid. So maybe he feels that way about himself. But we'll do it without him if we have to. The music is the issue."
Ray also made a sly reference to his guitar-playing sibling's interest in spiritual matters. "I hear Dave's more cosmic than ever. I'm a little more based on planet Earth than certain other members of my family."
In the same interview, the celebrated songwriter also complained he was still suffering from the 2004 shooting in New Orleans when he was robbed, as Spinner has recently reported.

--------Being English and of the same vintage as the KINKS-------they were part of my life soundtrack at that time!-------their strength was in the presentation of some of the most cleverly crafted lyrics and minor key melodies--- the vocal quality of Ray Davis suited such numbers as 'WATERLOO SUNSET'
-----------------The song writing was at times haunting and yes magical!-------------I still think however that they are best left in the rear view mirror!---and like EVERY musical act some of their stuff was crap.
This happens almost every time brothers are in bands together. Besides the Kinks there's Oasis, & the Black Crowes. Somehow Ann & Nancy Wilson of Heart have avoided this trap.

Life is too short and death too final to continue feuding over ANYTHING! One of my sister's died, suddenly, and it was DEVASTATING!!! She went to work and simply dropped deaad on the spot...guys don't let another day pass where you don't work this thing out AMONGST YOURSELVES...STOP AIRING YOUR DIRTY LAUNDRY to people who get paid to keep this nonsense going..for they will not be there (in your unmended heart) if what happens to our family happens to you.

having seen the band together and Ray solo,i can tell you its a great show,Ray is a rare performer and he still has it,making people half his age look weak, the chemistry when Ray and Dave are together, takes two exceptional talents and elevates them. The kinks however are more than Ray and Dave,Mick Avory,Iam Gibbons,Jim Rodford,John Gosling,Bob Henrit, and more, all add something wonderful..I have been lucky to see many legends of rock but these guys are my tops,if Ray and dave cant be on stage together,i would be disappointed but i would still go,i will however say a prayer that the brothers can get together and end with the classic expression coined when they were unwelcome by a musicians union,God save the KINKS...all the best,Mark.

I saw them together and as solo acts. Dave sang "Strangers" for my boys at a club in Orange County, California. We drove over an hour just to get there. He was very approachable, humble and just the nicest guy. I wish they could put their differences behind them, but then again, it just might not be possible. I wish them both well and will see them as solo acts for as long as they choose to tour. (By the way, we had a dog named Lola.)

I would pay to see The Kinks on any stage and with any number of the band. We're talking music history here not just some dumb ass opinion as to how good or bad they might be. There are so many bands and artists out there today that will all tell you The Kinks inspired them to take up music.
The other thing to consider is Ray Davies's age, I hope I still have his get up and go when I'm his age.
Let's see, Pete Quaife is no longer with us, Mick Avory didn't play on many of the group's hit (session drummer Bobby Graham did the honors) so Avory was just a face on the stage ... and Dave keeps saying no. So Ray is proposing a Kinks reunion with no Kinks, other than himself, in it?
Hey, I wouldn't call a concert with Paul and Ringo a Beatles reunion bus somehow, Ray Davies believes you can fool all of the people all of the time. Give it a rest.
give me a break. stay home and have some tea. you always sucked you guys just come back and want everyone to bow at your feet. awefull guitar and drums not to hot in vocals eather. give the new comers a shot. besides who the hell is going to spend money to see you. maybe some burned out groupies..status quoe will eat you alive
