Mayan Holidaze Returns in 2012 With STS9, Disco Biscuits, Umphrey's McGee

January 2012 may seem far away but it's never too early to start planning for next year's Mayan Holidaze. Especially given the fact that the first one sold out long in advance -- and practically everyone who went plans on going back. On Thursday, Cloud 9 Adventures announced details for the second round of this truly unique destination festival, which features multiple sets by STS9 (Sound Tribe Sector 9), the Disco Biscuits (pictured) and Umphrey's McGee. Additional artists will be named shortly.

As was expected -- and, indeed, hoped for -- Mayan Holidaze will return to the Now Sapphire Resort and Spa in the Mayan Riviera (about 20 minutes south of Cancun, Mexico) for another four days of juxtaposing an all-inclusive vacation with a full-on music festival. And not just for fans -- the artists get to enjoy this same double feature, often engaging attendees in extracurricular activities and excursions. Last year saw various band members participating in games of tennis, a poker tournament, scuba diving, snorkeling and even tequila "tasting."

The 2012 edition will take place from January 26 to 30, with tickets going on sale to the public on March 17. So figure out a way to get some loot and vacation time, since conceiving the idea tonight will give birth to the actual experience nine months from now -- and you've got to plan ahead because Mayan Holidaze sells out.
