My Morning Jacket Offer Six Free Songs Leading to New Album, 'Circuital'

A circuital act is one which goes around, not necessarily in circles, yet in a roundabout manner one way or another. And it's not that My Morning Jacket are covering old ground or repeating themselves, per se, but the band has regrouped after a short break and are getting ready to release a band new album: 'Circuital.' And while it's true that they aren't rehashing the old here, by any means, the disc does represent a certain return to their roots. Hence, the name of the album.

Recorded in the band's birthplace and hometown -- Louisville, Ky. -- inside a gymnasium which is, in turn, inside a church, 'Circuital' hearkens back to the warm production and loose vibe of their earliest works, yet contains the wisdom and the experience of a band who has since headlined Madison Square Garden and the like.

While the album itself won't drop until springtime, fans can psych themselves up for it by helping themselves to a free weekly download which the band will offer for six consecutive weeks beginning on March 3, via My Morning Jacket's official Web portal. The first five of these free tracks will be live songs taken from their weeklong residency at Terminal 5 in New York during October, 2010.
