In an interview with BBC 6 Music, Greenwood explained, "We have stopped planning ahead very far ... we are recording with Radiohead and rehearsing, playing and making music and working out what to do."
While Radiohead may not have any firm plans, Greenwood remains much in demand as a film score composer. His most recent work, the score for 'We Need to Talk About Kevin,' gave Greenwood the chance to experiment with new sounds, something he clearly relishes.
He said, "It's an amazing film ... a serious subject matter, but a good chance to play with new instruments. We used this harpist called Jean Kelly, who plays harp strung with metal strings, so it sounds like nothing you have heard, wonderful."
Comparing the experience to his day job with Radiohead, Greenwood said, "The band thing is a similar frenzy of just trying to make music and not be precious about what instruments we use, and what sound sources we reach for, and trying to treat everything as though it's on a level."
He concluded, "So playing guitars is great and I love it but I also love playing glockenspiels and pianos, they're all really important to me."
