Starring J.K. Simmons and Julia Ormond and based on a case study by 'Awakenings' author Dr. Oliver Sacks, M.D., the movie centers on the relationship between a father and his brain-damaged son. Following several surgeries, it's found that the son is unable to create new memories after 1968, but a therapist helps him improve by listening to the music of Bob Dylan, the Beatles, Crosby, Stills and Nash and, in particular, the Grateful Dead.
In support of the film, Dead guitarist Bob Weir and drummer Mickey Hart performed a special acoustic concert at the Sundance festival during which they played several of the band's hits. In the following clip, the duo delights the crowd with a moving rendition of 'Truckin',' one of the band's most beloved songs. Check it out below and be sure to catch 'The Music Never Stopped' when it hits theaters on March 18.
