The charity gig will take place on March 22 at the Auckland Town Hall with tickets going on sale from Friday, March 18, at www.theedge.co.nz. All proceeds will be donated to the CHCH Earthquake Relief Fund.
Foo Fighters mainman Dave Grohl had previously recorded a video message of support for those affected by the earthquake, which struck in February and killed at least 163 people.
In the video, which was released a couple of weeks ago, Grohl had said, "We hope that we can see you soon, and do what we can to bring a little bit of happiness back in to your lives."
The Auckland Town Hall website writes that the hall is "renowned for its acoustics" and that it is the "preferred venue for those entertainers whose art form lends itself to a more intimate setting", but one must presume a guitar-shredding rendition of 'Monkey Wrench' will go down a treat nonetheless.
Dave Grohl and Co. recently met up with Spinner for an exclusive video interview ahead of the release of their upcoming album, 'Wasting Light'. Check them out chatting about the new record, and Twitter, here.
